You are currently a decision-maker at one of the 25 million businesses based in these great United States. Like any businessman you are driven towards maximizing profits, but not at the point of jeopardizing your brand and product quality. So you think to yourself, "How can I reduce operating costs and still provide the same great product to our loyal customers?"

Naturally, you have thought about or even seriously explored manufacturing your product in China, but have been leery to take the next step or commit to a plan. Purchasing directly from China would allow you to streamline your supply chain by cutting out the additional costs added by unnecessary wholesalers, distributors, and importers. For many businesses this is a profitable and viable option to consider, but in doing so you must also consider the potential risks and obstacles.

First, you will want to find a reliable and trustworthy sourcing agent that has relevant and ample experience working directly with Chinese manufacturers in your industry. Usually they will have access to an extensive database of vendors they have used in the past and will only work with tried and true factories. These experienced sourcing agents will have closer and more developed relationships in China and therefore receive more attention and accurate quotes than someone merely requesting a quote via a web site.

Next, a local sourcing agent will generally be able to condense the roles played by quality control engineers, factory auditors, supply chain management specialists, and importers into a single, full-service team. Having your QC experts and production management team physically in China throughout production is very important. They will have face-to-face contact with the manufacturers and be able to respond quickly and efficiently to any unforeseeable hiccups during the manufacturing process.

Utilizing a full-service team to replace your current middlemen is essentially where your savings will be realized. You will only have to work with one sourcing agent instead of hiring multiple companies to handle quality control, auditing, freight-forwarding, etc. An experienced sourcing agent will save your company a substantial amount of money by consolidating your outsourcing efforts into one reliable company.

If you are apprehensive of working directly with a Chinese sourcing agent, know that today there are many professional and capable sourcing agents managed by experienced Westerners but headquartered in mainland China. The best of these Western-run sourcing agents will also provide 24-hour customer service and a bilingual staff that will candidly answer any questions you may have about outsourcing.

More so than factories, a professional and trustworthy sourcing agent will always have your best interest in mind and want to develop strong relationships with their clients to ensure repeat business. They will also have invaluable experience in the aggressive negotiation that tends to play a major role in the Chinese manufacturing sector. This means that they have incentive to deliver exactly what was agreed upon--a high quality product custom made for each client at a fair price and shipped on schedule.

Working directly with China is an option any savvy business owner has to research and seriously consider. With the right sourcing agent you can capitalize on the opportunity to directly source your product overseas, without opening a China office or trial and error. You will find that it is possible for production to be streamlined in China from design to delivery in a more efficient, manageable, and cost-effective manner.

Importance of TQM in Success of Emergency Services

Agility and accuracy is the key of success of any emergency service. The quality of emergency services includes wide variety of quality aspects, all of which are important. The lack of detailed information about any of these aspects means that we have not able to figure out need of quality control area of vital interest to the people in India. In India awareness towards emergency services is not much in comparison to our western counter parts. But it’s our moral duty to educate them about their right of safety. There is a need of public private partnership (PPP) in this area. The 108 Emergency services of Emergency Management and Research Institute is a good step in this direction.
The traditional perspectives of quality and the familiar view of customer satisfaction are inadequate to manage the complex relationship between the emergency service firm and the victims of emergency. According to one study by Lengrick Hall (1995) victims play four roles in emergency care system –that of supplier, product, participant and recipient. Plek (1995) describes TQM as a cooperative form of doing business, which relies on talent and capabilities of both labor and management to improve quality and productivity continually, using teams.

Three important factors for success of TQM in emergency services:
1.Participative management
2.Continuous process improvement
3.Managing Teams

Cost management is critical for the sustained quality emergency services because in any agency resources are main concern especially in case of a nonprofit organization. When you are walking on a tight rope, you can’t afford dancing. The cost management is important in controlling a nation’s healthcare expenditure.
Emergency services like fire brigade, ambulance and security and rehabilitation are people oriented, the prevention and reduction of human errors at all level are of vital importance. In case of emergency people are in trauma and emotionally charged up, this makes them difficult to handle. This means that top priority must be given to human reliability with a set goal of 100 per cent. Progressive movement towards this goal is characterized by emphasis on two “Zs”. The two Zs for human reliability:

1.Zero Error: Emphasis on accuracy
2.Zero Delay: Emphasis on urgency

Magic of .htaccess file in Internet marketing

The .htaccess file and the power it has to improve your website. Although .htaccess is only a file, it can change settings on the servers and allow you to do many different things, the most popular being able to have your own custom 404 error pages. .htaccess isn't difficult to use and is really just made up of a few simple instructions in a text file. If your server runs Unix or Linux, or any version of the Apache web server it will support .htaccess, although your host may not allow you to use it.

There is a huge range of things .htaccess can do including:

password protecting folders, redirecting users automatically, custom error pages, changing your file extensions, banning users with certian IP addresses, only allowing users with certain IP addresses, stopping directory listings and using a different file as the index file.

Custom Error Pages

The first use of the .htaccess file which will cover is custom error pages. These will allow you to have your own, personal error pages (for example when a file is not found) instead of using your host's error pages or having no page.

This will make your site seem much more professional in the unlikely event of an error. It will also allow you to create scripts to notify you if there is an error (for example I use a PHP script on Free Webmaster Help to automatically e-mail me when a page is not found).

You can use custom error pages for any error as long as you know its number (like 404 for page not found) by adding the following to your .htaccess file: ErrorDocument errornumber /file.html If the file is not in the root directory of your site, you just need to put the path to it: ErrorDocument 500 /errorpages/500.html

These are some of the most common errors:

401 - Authorization Required

400 - Bad request

403 - Forbidden

500 - Internal Server Error

404 - Wrong page

Then, all you need to do is to create a file to display when the error happens and upload it and the .htaccess file.
